Gordon College
The Early Childhood program at both the undergraduate and graduate level is designed to teach all students with and without disabilities as well as English Language Learners. Students may choose a licensure path or a non-licensure path to achieve their goals.
Highlights:
- The Early Childhood undergraduate and graduate programs are designed for those interested in teaching PreKindergarten to Grade 2.
- Field experiences start early in the program.
- The student who completes the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education may be endorsed for licensure in Pre-K-2 in the state of Massachusetts. Early Childhood majors choose an acceptable second major in the Liberal Arts in order to be a “highly qualified” teacher.
- Students may add a concentration in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and earn a second license as an undergraduate.
- Master’s degree for students seeking initial licensure for PreK-2 levels is available.
- All programs practice a philosophy of teaching that is setting a benchmark of excellence across the nation.
- Approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Higher Education Coordinating Council and the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC).
- Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
