Masters of Education Teacher Licensure

MCLA offers Masters of Education (MEd) teacher licensure pathways for individuals who have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher in another field. Initial licensure programs are offered in the following areas: Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle School or Secondary in a variety of content areas, Moderate Disabilities, and Reading Specialist. Courses are offered on campus either in the late afternoon or evening to enable working students to take courses while employed. Field placements and student teaching in Berkshire County schools are incorporated into the plan of study. A cohort model Initial licensure MEd program is expected to begin in Pittsfield in Fall 2016.
