Bristol Community College

Bristol Community College is a comprehensive community college offering more than 150 career and transfer programs of study that lead to an Associate Degree in Science, Arts, Applied Sciences, and Certificates of Accomplishment or Achievement. Students are able to transfer to private and public colleges/universities within and outside of the State of Massachusetts.

Highlights:

Bristol Community College offers students a wide variety of extracurricular activities that include Clubs, Student Senate, Theatre, Student Multicultural Center and more. The Early Childhood Education Programs’ students benefit from excellent Teaching Practicum field placements in DEEC approved settings as well as Public School institutions. Students actively participate in community agencies such as the Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River and the Fall River Public School Early Childhood Education. As members of the Educators’ Club students have opportunities for enhancing professional leadership skills and advancing creative community-academic partnerships.

Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education Preschool

This certificate program prepares students to enter the field as a qualified entry-level professional ready to work with preschool children in settings such as daycare, learning centers, and family child care.

Certificate of Achievement in Early Childhood Education Infant/Toddler

This certificate program introduces students to the application of principles of respectful care and education of infants and toddlers (birth through 2.9 years).  Through placement in a supervised infant/toddler setting, students demonstrate their understanding of the principles and skills needed

Associates in Science in Early Childhood Education Career Option

The Early Childhood Education Career program prepares students to become eligible for Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Child Care Lead Teacher Certification.  Students select one of three concentration areas that include: Infant-Toddler, Preschool, or School Age Child Care.

Associates in Science in Early Childhood Education Licensure Option

The Early Childhood Education Licensure Transfer program enrolls individuals aspiring to become educators of preschool, kindergarten, grade 1, and grade 2 children.  Successful candidates apply for preschool teacher certification from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Child Care
